Evanescent Wave Technology
Our glucose sensing platform relies on evanescent wave technology where light from a phone flashlight causes enhanced red fluorescence that travels through to the edge of a small planar waveguide where it is detected by the phone camera. This process generates a faint energy field referred to as evanescent wave that extends just beyond the waveguide surface. Interaction of the added sample with the waveguide substrate alters the evanescent signal and the waveguided light.
Real-Time Detection
By measuring these light changes instantly, the platform provides real-time glucose readings, offering a quick and reliable way to monitor glucose levels. The use of saliva sample, enables non-invasive health monitoring, giving users an easy, painless method for managing their glucose levels.
Development Progress
We are looking for partners to accelerate this development and are also considering targeting other bio-markers such as cortisol in sweat which is highly expressed in people undergoing depression.
